World Environmental Week

16th July 2009

Pollution and its effect on marine animals (1 June – 5 June 2009)

The programme included the incredible play, Shark Dreams, by Jungle Theatre (based upon a book written by Lesley Rochat), short talks: the effects of pollution on penguins, the real need for recycling and the environment, minimizing our carbon footprint and beach pollution followed by a beach clean up.

Even Muizenberg Beach, a Blue Flag beach, delivered bag upon bag of litter, much to the amazement of the learners. Our thanks to the City of Cape Town, Cape Town Tourism (Muizenberg Office), Ocean Conservancy, Jungle Theatre, SANCCOB, the SA Navy, Metro Rail and Peninsula Beverages.
