Kids with Maxine – school holiday program
Emily: “I have only been here a few days but have already I can see how much the SOSSC sparks the local community’s passion for shark conservation. Even children as yound as 4 leave the Shark Centre bursting with new found knowledge to share with their families. By educating one person at a time, the SOS Shark Centre is changing the way the public views sharks and is emphasizing the importance of protecting them”. Emily is studying Animal Science.
Rikki-Lee: She joined us for the second of the events, lives in San Francisco and is studying teaching. Her passion for the ocean and children is evident. She is a certified lifeguard – fortunately not needed thus far but great all the same and has decided to pursue a career in Marine Biology.
Cyrus: He is studying law at Diablo Valley College, however has always had a great interest in Marine Biology. Cyrus has learnt a lot about the diversity in the Marine Environment and the running of the SOSSC yet he has learned the finer points of gardening, specimen collection and sorting out the outside water drainage at the centre.
