Drawing your attention to the launch of the Shark Alliance Member State Challenge.
The campaign follows the publication of the European Commission’s Plan of Action for the Conservation of Sharks last month, which initially which set the stage for long held out for improvements in the European Union’s (EU) policies regarding shark fishing and conservation.
The campaign aims to grade each Member State on their position relative to the shark plan, placing countries in categories ranging from "Shark Champion" all the way to "Hurting the Sharks".
Use the Shark Alliance’s website to see track how your country is doing thus far, and if you don’t like what you see, use the pre-drafted letter on their website to begin putting pressure on your fisheries minister to start making active changes.
