TEDx SeaPoint in Cape Town – Who moved my Sushi

28th March 2012

Being the CEO of Save Our Seas is a privilege. But during TEDx SeaPoint, we strongly felt how overwhelming this privilege can be… Save Our Seas was one of the main sponsors and partners of this event.

The first TEDx SeaPoint in Cape Town was a fantastic experience. 23 speakers and 23 fascinating stories. From the difficulties of marine park guard Vernon, during his lonely night watches on the South African coast, on the look-out for abalone poachers, the charming Hanli Prinsloo, the truly amazing story of Dr Supraja Dharini, who saved 100,000 turtle hatchlings, after starting her own marine turtle conservation project, and many other inspiring speakers, to Achmat Hassiem, who lost his leg after a shark bite and who is now involved with shark conservation. We felt both humble and excited. What a delight to watch and listen to these inspiring people!

All speeches can be watched on line later. We will keep you updated!
