Born in Switzerland, Julia grew up surrounded by mountains and with Lake Geneva on her doorstep. She has always been drawn to nature thanks to her many activities outdoors as well as travels with her family. At a very young age she developed a strong and enthusiastic interest in all kind of animals, but especially the aquatic ones. As a child, she would spend hours collecting posters and figurines and filling folders with detailed information about various marine species, dreaming of one day working towards their conservation.
As it seemed unlikely that such dreams could be realised, Julia followed a more conventional path and pursued her studies at HEC Lausanne, in Switzerland. After obtaining a BSc in Management and then a Master’s degree in Finance, she worked for almost six years as an analyst in the financial sector in Geneva. This experience allowed her to develop a wide range of skills, from financial analysis to team management and strong client relationships. It also gave her the opportunity to learn more about herself, and she eventually realised that she wanted to shift to a domain that had more meaning for her.
Ultimately, she decided to pluck up her courage and take the leap to apply the skills she had acquired to the field that had always fascinated her. Today, she is embarking on a new adventure with the Save Our Seas Foundation. She is determined to not only learn more about the protection and preservation of marine ecosystems and make her own contribution to their conservation, but also to reconnect with her first aspirations.
