Karen Muller from SANCCOB visits the Shark Centre

Karen Muller with Columbine and Rocky

Karen Muller is the most delightful woman and her visits to the events in Kalk Bay and St James during the Environmental Week were a hit with the children. Karen served her time at SANCCOB as a bird rehabilitator and is now the Outreach teacher for the centre. She was accompanied by Columbine, an African penguin and Rocky, a Rock Hopper penguin, a sub-Antarctic species. Karen can be contacted on 021 557 6155 or email info@sanccob.co.za for school, community group and corporate visits both on site in Table View or have them come to you. Donations/sponsorship for these visits are important as they assist SANCCOB in their work in rehabilitating oiled penguins. Recently 147 of the 149 African penguins from Namibia treated at the centre were released from Derde Steen in Blouberg and have been sighted in the waters off Namibia – “ET is home”! If you have time and passion enroll with SANCCOB as a volunteer to assist in their rehab programme.
