The Save Our Seas Shark Centre celebrated National Marine Week (8 – 12 October 2012) in collaboration with the WWF Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative (WWF-SASSI), by organising a fun kiddies colouring-in competition aimed at raising awareness for sustainable seafood.
The Green Fish Species inspired colouring-in page, designed by WWF-SASSI, was transformed into hundreds of colourful artworks by children from Fish Hoek Primary, Muizenberg Junior, Star of the Sea and James House. Twenty winners chosen from the various schools were each awarded a variety of Save Our Seas marine books and a goodie bag that included the SASSI pocket guide.
Courtney Poole from Star of the Sea was awarded first place overall in the colouring-in competition, with Siya Gola from Fish Hoek Primary in second place.
Many thanks to all the schools that participated in this exciting competition and to WWF-SASSI for supplying the colouring-in page.
