Shark Centre closes temporarily to the public for refurbishment

22nd March 2013

As of 1 April 2013, The Save Our Seas Shark Centre in Kalk Bay will be closing its doors to the general public for at least 6 months while it undergoes a massive refurbishment.

The Save Our Seas team will be working on new teaching materials and curriculum, while at the same time putting together a new and exciting shark and marine exhibition at the Centre.

During this period of closure, the Shark Centre will continue to welcome school visits and other group bookings, as marine education remains a key priority.

“We are excited to give the public an opportunity to connect with the marine environment, in the hopes that they become aware of the state of our oceans and marine life, and are able to take environmentally responsible action”, says Michael Scholl, CEO of the Save Our Seas Foundation.

A grand reopening of the Shark Centre is planned for November 2013.
