A busy week at the Shark Centre

28th February 2012

It’s been a busy week at the Save Our Seas Shark Centre. As well as a steady stream of public visiting the Centre, we’ve had 223 primary school children on our education programmes this week. Learners from Zwaanswyk, Habibia and Harmony Primary schools were all treated to perfect weather, calm seas and low tides – just what one wants when exploring the magnificent rock pools at Dalebrook beach, right in front of the Shark Centre.

This exploration, together with an interactive lesson on sharks went down really well with these youngsters, who usually don’t have access to the marine world. It’s a privilege to be involved in the awakening of their marine awareness, especially when the response is such an enthusiastic one. Learning and fun really can go together – we proved that again this week!
