The DRC overlooks the ocean on the north-western side of D’Arros Island. Facilities consist of a dry and a wet laboratory. The dry lab contains computer and electronic equipment while the wet lab is used for sample analysis and experimentation. There is a small rustic outpost on St Joseph Island that consists of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a toilet. This camp is used by scientists whose research focuses primarily on the atoll.
