These are a few of my favourite images of our school group rock-pool explorations in 2017 (so far).\u00a0 The learners really love being able to explore their natural environment, and I have to say that this is one activity I enjoy as much as the groups do!<\/p>\n

Fish Hoek Primary Grade 5 pupils display their starfish find<\/p><\/div>\n

Fish Hoek Grade 5.\u00a0 A little bit (OK, a lot!) of rain wasn\u2019t going to discourage the Grade 5 class from Fish Hoek Primary School from rock-pooling.<\/p>\n

Neither was it going to discourage the super enthusiastic Grade 1 class from Wynberg Boys Junior School.<\/p>\n

Wynberg Boys Junior School Grade 1s didn’t let the weather stop them from having fun<\/p><\/div>\n

The Grade 6 class from Muizenberg Junior School really got stuck into their outing to Dalebrook, and left no rock-pool unexplored.<\/p>\n

Thembani Primary School Grade 6 and 7 learners had their outing on one of the most picturesque days of the year.<\/p>\n

Beautiful weather for Thembani Primary’s rock-pool session<\/p><\/div>\n

The Grove Primary Grade R learners were fascinated by the tiny African periwinkles. \u00a0It was very sweet watching the teeny tiny people looking at teeny tiny rock-pool creatures.<\/p>\n

The Grove Grade R learners found the even smallest creatures fascinating<\/p><\/div>\n

Reddam House Tokai Grade 2 learners loved the cushion starfish and sea cucumbers that assistant educator Zanele Mayiya was showing them.<\/p>\n

Micklefield Grade 7 learners investigated the limpets visible during the low tide.<\/p>\n

At spring low tide, the limpets down on the bottom of the shore are visible and the Micklefield School Grade 7 girls had a wonderful opportunity to check them out!<\/p><\/div>\n

Wynberg Girls Junior School Grade 3 learners seemed to have an eye for starfish, and found them all over the rock-pools.<\/p>\n

Ntwasahlobo Primary School learners discovering that sea urchins are much less scary than they initially thought<\/p><\/div>\n

The Grade 5 and 6 learners from Ntwasahlobo Primary School spent some time counting sea urchins. Some were even brave enough to gently pick up an urchin.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
