We weren&#8217;t too sure how our message would be received by people who have little or no contact with the coast, but as it turned out we had an extremely enthusiastic response. Both adults and children were often surprised to learn about the role that a healthy ocean plays in their own survival \u2013 and it was heartening to see high levels of interest in the plight of sharks. <\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6885\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 600px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saveourseas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/imported\/Winelands_expo_(1).jpg\" class=\"fresco\" data-fresco-caption=\"\" data-fresco-options=\"thumbnails:false\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/saveourseas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/imported\/Winelands_expo_(1).jpg\" alt=\"paul &#038; student\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6885\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">paul &#038; student<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Apart from showcasing our work and engaging with approximately three hundred youngsters and almost as many adults, the Expo also provided us with an opportunity to learn more about the work of other conservation organisations and explore ways in which we can support each other&#8217;s work. There really are some amazing people and projects out there!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6886\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 600px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saveourseas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/imported\/Winelands_expo_(2).jpg\" class=\"fresco\" data-fresco-caption=\"\" data-fresco-options=\"thumbnails:false\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/saveourseas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/imported\/Winelands_expo_(2).jpg\" alt=\"tree planting\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6886\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">tree planting<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Cape Winelands District Municipality did a fantastic job in organising this ambitious event.
