A very Happy New Year to everybody from the Fox Shark Research Foundation!!

We are hoping to have a fantastic year with many new projects underway. With the acoustic receivers project sponsored by Save Our Seas, we are hoping to glean some new insights into white shark fidelity in SA waters, so are looking forward to lifting the stations and downloading the data in April. And recent findings and sighting from the Neptunes have highlighted the need for PAT tagging, so we will be looking to concentrate on this aspect mid year….. until then, the summer season has exceeded expectations so far, with an influx of sharks into the area last week. This includes some old faces, furthering our site fidelity data from the Neptune Islands and further feeding into the data pool for this project.

We have also been fortunate enough to have some amazing dives with schools of bronze whalers, and also a very inquisitive and active large mako along with the white sharks, so the next two months should be incredibly exciting for all onboard.
