National Geographic: A Special Mission

by SOSF Photographer/CEO Peter Verhoog, August 2011

The National Geographic team has been filming in False Bay, using the Save Our Seas Foundation research boat. There was one team that attached crittercams to great white sharks, and another team that filmed the whole procedure for National Geographic Television. The crittercam team managed to put 12 crittercams in place. The team is now evaluating all footage. Save Our Seas Foundation photographer and CEO Peter Verhoog managed to capture the whole procedure in photos. The crittercams were left at the Shark Centre in Kalk Bay. Scientist Alison Kock will be using the crittercam for the coming year to try to obtain more footage for her research.
